Eppson Center for Seniors – Senior Assisted Transportation Service

Program Description:

Our S.A.T.S. buses are running for essential transportation services and still offering door-to-door assisted transportation. Drivers and passengers are required to wear masks and other health and safety precautions will be taken.

Campbell County Senior Center – Transportation Services

Program Description:

The Senior Center provides door-to-door transit service for senior citizens, disabled individuals and the transportation disadvantaged.

Our buses are wheelchair accessible and each of our drivers are certified in CPR, Defensive Driving, First Aid, and Passenger Service and Safety.

  3. 3As rides are scheduled on a first come first served basis, it is requested that you call a minimum of 24 hrs in advance to request transportation.
  4. 4Punch cards, good for 22 rides, are available at a cost $40.00 for senior and disabled riders and $80.00 for the general public. Utilizing these punch cards not only makes it easier but entitles the user to 2 free rides.

STAR Transit – Seniors

Program Description:

Sweetwater County Transit Authority Resource (STAR) offers Deviated Fixed Route service on all of its regular routes.

A deviated – fixed route service is a hybrid of fixed route and demand response services. With this type of service, a bus stops at fixed points and keeps to a timetable but can deviate its course between two stops to go to a specific location for a pre-scheduled request.

After deviating from the route buses return to the same point to continue their run. Deviated Fixed Route service requires one hour advance reservation.

If you cannot get to a designated bus stop, you may be eligible for the bus to come to you. Deviated service is offered within one-quarter mile of all regular routes. Due to the limited availability, please do not anticipate this service will be available at all times and during all trips. If you live outside the one-quarter of a mile, STAR provides paratransit door-to-door service.

Seniors:STAR Transit has a number of routes that are senior specific. Seniors signing up for specific activities will be given door-to-door service regardless of where they live in relation to the fixed-route.

  • Any senior wishing to use the specific senior routes will need to call the STAR office at 307-382-7827 or 307-875-7827 to set up dates and times.

  1. 1Young at Heart Senior Center Transportation in Rock SpringsIn Rock Springs the bus goes to the Young at Heart Senior Center at 8:00am and 11:00am. It then returns to the Center to take senior passengers home at 1:00pm and 3:00pm
  2. 2Grocery Shopping in Rock Springs On every Thursday the bus goes grocery shopping. The senior passengers may choose to go to Smiths or Albertsons. The bus will begin to pick up passengers at 12:30pm to go shopping at 1:00pm and the return trip home from the store will be at 2:00pm.
  3. 3Other Shopping in Rock Springs On the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of the month the bus in Rock Springs takes seniors to shop at Wal-Mart or the White Mountain Mall. The bus begins to pick up passengers about 12:30pm and arrives at the shopping locations around 1:00pm. The bus will return 2:00pm and 3:00pm.
  4. 4Golden Hour Senior Center Transportation In Green River the bus goes to the Golden Hour Senior Center at 9:30am and again at 11:00am. It then returns to the center to take passengers home at 1:15pm and again at 3:00pm.
  5. 5Grocery and Other Shopping in Green River Every Thursday in Green River is shopping day. The bus begins to pick passengers up at 12:30pm and they may choose to go to Smiths. The bus will return to the store to take the passengers home at 2:00pm. Every 2nd and 4th Friday the bus begins picking people up at 12:00pm in Green River to go to Walmart. It then returns to pick them up at 2:30pm

  3. 3If the bus stops for your scheduled ride and you do not get on the bus, you will be charged $2.00 for a “no-show”. If you fail to pay for your “no-show” you will be unable to ride until the “no-show” is paid.
