Beth is very similar to her dad John Dutton (Kevin Costner) in many ways, including the lengths they will go to protect their Montana home.

To try and bring down the company Market Equities, she manipulated a situation by having Summer Higgins (Piper Perabo) and others protest outside the building.

Beth advised Caroline Warner (Jacki Weaver) to stop the press from coming and get agents to deal with the protestors.

But, most likely thanks to Beth, the media still arrived and documented the protest.

However, Summer got into trouble and was arrested once again which John wasn't happy about.

Upon hearing that it was Beth's idea, John was furious with his daughter and told her to leave the ranch.

Seeking comfort, she went to the bunkhouse to find Walker (Ryan Bingham) and asked for him to play her a sad song.

As he sang and strummed on his guitar, Beth cried, not knowing that her boyfriend Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) had seen this intimate moment between them.

While some have deducted that Beth went to Walker perhaps because of some unfinished business between them, actress Reilly has given another explanation.

In a video for Paramount Network talking about the episode No Such Thing As Fair, Reilly examined the meaning behind the scene.

She said: "It was a difficult moment to shoot. To have that moment with him.

"She couldn't share that moment of grief with Rip."

Reilly continued: "It's almost like she doesn't want Rip to see that.

"And for her to truly go there and for her to truly feel it, it has to be with someone who's experienced it and can almost just allow the space for it.

Bingham also opened up on the song itself in the scene, revealing it had been picked by creator Taylor Sheridan.

He said: "It's an old song I wrote a few years ago and he said he'd been trying to find a place to use it somewhere in the show and that was just kind of what he envisioned."

An official description hasn't been released by Paramount Network just yet.
